Members of an animated cartoon studio of the Children's Arts Center made an animated video for the employees of the Ust-Ilimsk Mill of Ilim Group on the Mill's 40th anniversary that was celebrated in 2020. It was dedicated to the making of the Ust-Ilimsk Mill.
Fifteen participants aged 9 to 13 were involved in this project. Ekaterina Karmanova, the studio leader, noted that the idea to make a video for the Mill’s anniversary was put forward for a good reason as many of the children's older relatives were former or current employees of Ilim.
«When we were thinking about the plot, we decided to show the making of the Mill. We looked through a lot of pictures and researched information in the Internet as we worked on this video. We also found the book 'When I grow up, I'll be a forest chemist' given to us by Ilim, to be very helpful. For example, we used pictures of equipment and machinery used at the facility».
Activities in the Children's Arts Center are part of the ‘Town of All Trades’ project that was launched in 2018 and supported by Ilim Group. Its key objective is to provide vocational guidance to children aged 5 to 14. Its idea is simple – children are told about different professions through interactive games, activities, audio shows, etc. With Ilim's help, the Children’s Art Center purchased furniture and equipment needed for creative sessions.
