Ksenia Sosnina Takes Part in Transformation of Business to Spur Economic Growth Session at SPIEF

Ксения Соснина стала спикером сессии ПМЭФ «Трансформация бизнеса как источник экономического роста»

Global changes in markets and businesses driven by the pandemic last year were one of the topics discussed during the Transformation of Business to Spur Economic Growth session at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2021 where Ksenia Sosnina, CEO of JSC Ilim Group, was one of the speakers.

Ksenia Sosnina noted in her speech that competition is the key external source of transformation for businesses. At the same time, in-house transformation management involves managing conflicts between old and new approaches. She also emphasized that traditionally conservative industries are currently undergoing in-depth transformations.

“While implementing our sustainable development strategy, Ilim Group relies on the balance of three components: resources – production – market. Global competition with players from Canada, Brazil, USA, and Europe sets the bar of ambitions and drives the need to build up additional skills, competencies, and professionalism. Based on long-term trends, also including higher-than-market demand growth for packaging, we are starting a kraftliner production at one of our Siberian mills in 2022. It will enable Ilim to become one of the largest producers of unbleached kraft packaging materials in the world with a total output of 1.5 million tons of products per year. Total company output by 2025 will exceed 4.5 million tons of products per year thus bringing Ilim on par with the largest global industry players. Our company is the largest forest management company which shapes our development outlook and at the same time entails great responsibility”, noted Ksenia Sosnina.
