On June 7, 2019, as part of SPIEF 2019, Ilim Group and the Russian Export Center signed a cooperation agreement aimed to promote cooperation between the parties during the implementation of the government policy for development and support of Ilim’s high-tech products export. Under the agreement, the Russian Export Center will provide information and consultancy support during implementation of Ilim’s largest investment projects in the next 5 years.

Ilim’s large-scale investment program worth RUB 200 billion stipulates an increase in the pulp and board production output. The Siberian mills of Ilim Group in Ust-Ilimsk and Bratsk have become the main sites for investment program implementation. Construction of a new pulp and paperboard mill in Ust-Ilimsk in late 2021 will allow Ilim to increase its annual production output of board by 600 thousand tons and the upgrade of the existing facilities for pulp and board production in Bratsk and Ust-Ilimsk will add another 400 thousand tons of finished products. As a result, by 2023 Ilim Group’s aggregate production output of finished products will exceed 4.4 million tons per year with more than 50% going to export. The larger share of products will be delivered to China, the key partner of Ilim Group.

When signing the agreement, Kseniia Sosnina said that the execution of investment projects will allow Ilim to increase its export by another 1million tons in several years’ time, thus contributing to the increase in non-commodity and non-energy exports.
