«Илим» принял участие в London pulp week

During the annual London Pulp Week, Ilim Group Management had meetings with our key European and Asian partners – consumers of pulp and board products including our key pulp distributors in Asia represented by CNPPC (China) and Enercell (South Korea), board and pulp distributors - Korab (Turkey), tissue manufacturers - Hayat Kimya (Turkey), and our agent in the Japanese market – STGR company. Arctic Paper S.A (Poland), Europcell (Germany), and Fornaroli (Italy) were among our key European partners. The total annual export to the customers of these companies exceeds 860,000 tons of finished products.

“The strategy of Ilim Group is also determined by the location of its mills. The main focus of pulp supply development in the Asian region is driven by a location-specific advantage which our mills in Bratsk and Ust-Ilimsk have in terms of their proximity to the land border between Russia and China, as well as to Far East ports which connect Russia and Southeast Asia. Another priority is to support our key European customers. We are planning to develop the Europe destination mainly in the segment of packaging materials, which is now the fastest growing segment”, – said Timofey Sokolenko, Senior Vice-President, Sales & Supply Chain Management, Ilim Group after the meeting.

Over the last few years, London Pulp Week has become a global meeting platform for not only European pulp manufacturers, but also equipment manufacturers, global distributors, analytical agencies, and business participants from all over the world.

The time chosen for London Pulp Week (first half of November) is the best possible option in terms of holding initial negotiations for the next year, summarizing the results for the current year, and receiving market forecasts from the leading global analysts. As a rule, the event attracts the largest global players in the P&P and forestry industry.

Over many years, Ilim Group has sponsored the Hawkings Wright conference, held as part of London Pulp Week, a symposium that brings together manufacturers, economists, political analysts, ecologists and distributors, in which speakers exchange views on developing the pulp and paper industry in the short and in the long term. This year, the conference centered around a review of the global trends in the pulp and paper industry, new markets for biomaterials and biochemical products, opportunities for the pulp and paper industry development in the context of global walk-away from plastic, etc.
