17 august 2009 Bratsk Branch of Ilim Group improves performance: In the context of its equipment repair program, the Bratsk Branch of OJSC Ilim Group has started to implement an industrial wastewater treatment facility project. This is one of the main projects included in the Branch R and M program for 2009 to which the company allocated a total of around RUR 25 million. The project goal is to reduce the environmental impact on the Vikhorevka river.

21 july 2009 Ilim Group's logging enterprises win the Logger ‘09 competition: The 10th Oblast Loggers Competition Logger '09 was held in Vikhorevka of the Irkutsk Oblast on July 11. Over 130 employees of the Siberian logging companies took part in it. 18 june 2009 Ilim Group has joined the Kyoto Protocol: Ilim Group has submitted an application to the Economic Development Ministry to include the completed new evaporators investment project in Koryazhma into the list of projects that comply with Kyoto Protocol requirements. When the application is approved, the company would receive quotas for greenhouse gases emission reduced as a result of the project, and would be ableable to trade those quotas internationally.
17 june 2009 IlimSeverLes (Ilim West business unit) starts reforestation efforts in the Arkhangelsk oblast: OOO IlimSeverLes (a logging enterprise of Ilim West Business Unit, Ilim Group) launched its spring reforestation efforts. RUR 12.8 million was earmarked for these purposes in 2009. This is 15% more than the 2008 funding which is due to the increase in the total area of timberland leased by Ilim Group in the Arkhangelsk Oblast.

Compared to the same period of 2008, pulp and paper production went down 18 %.

The audit confirmed that the branch system complies all requirements of OHSAS 18001:2007 international standard requirements.
10 april 2009 New loading cranes were delivered to Ust-Ilimsk branch of Ilim Group: 3 «Liebherr» loading cranes were delivered to the forest complex site of Ust-Ilimsk branch of Ilim group. These loading cranes employ the latest enhanced grip electronic control system. New machines will work with our new «SISU» tractor and trailer rigs as well as conventional trucks and rail cars.
