Born in the city of Sebezh, Pskov Region, in 1959. Graduated from the Leningrad State Technological Institute of the Pulp-and-Paper Industry in 1981. Worked as a mechanic at the Kondopoga Pulp-and-Paper Mill in 1981. In 1985 moved to Leningrad Board Mill (Saint-Petersburg Cartonboard and Printing Mill at present) where he held the position of foreman at the cartonboard shop and in 1989 was appointed Production Manager. In 1989 Boris Zingarevich was elected Chairman of the Trade Union Committee at the Leningrad Paper Mill. In 1991 Boris Zingarevich co-founded and became CEO of Technoferm, a joint venture which specialized in trading paper- and board-based products. In 1992 co-founded Ilim Pulp, established on the base of Technoferm. Initiated the restructuring of trading company to the largest vertically-integrated forest industry corporation. Held the position of chairman of the board of directors of Saint-Petersburg Cartonboard and Printing Mill where participated in development of the largest producer of cartonboard in Russia. Boris Zingarevich has been Deputy General Director of Ilim Pulp till 2000 and was in charge of the operational management. In December 2000 he entered the Board of Directors and focused on the company’s strategy development and implementation of principles of the corporate governance. In 2002-2003 he lead the process of restructuring Ilim Pulp’s operations along the business lines and formulating the company’s strategy. In 2003 he head the project Corporate University of Ilim Pulp, initiated the extensive program of training of the human resources, development of the corporate culture and internal communications. In 2007 was elected Member of the Board of Directors, Ilim Group. |
